DESIGN SUPPORT ENGINEER – UMBILICAL REELER SYSTEMS

Our commitment to providing bespoke reeler packages and associated equipment to our customers is meeting with growing demand.  In order to enhance this new growth area a Design Support Engineer is required to assist the Principle Design Engineer in delivering complete packages to time, quality and cost programs.

 

The successful candidate will ideally be HNC or HND qualified in mechanical/electrical engineering, however previous experience within a fabrication/manufacturing environment would be considered.  You must be able to effectively review problems in order to formulate practical and cost effective solutions together with a willingness to support projects with a hands-on approach.

The post holder will preferably have had exposure to offshore or capital equipment project engineering, be able to produce detailed technical drawings to recognised standards using Autocad and to have experience in 3D Inventor would be advantageous. 

This position may require the post holder to travel within the UK and internationally therefore a valid passport and driving licence are necessary.

TEST TECHNICIANS (2)

The inspection department deals with the test and verification of conformance of all products manufactured within JDR, materials purchased by JDR and free issue parts supplied by customers.

 

Main responsibilities of the role:

1)    Carry out inspection and verification of goods inwards (raw materials of parts to be used within the manufacturing process) in accordance with the JDR Quality procedure, or other test criteria laid down by the design or quality departments.

 

2)    In-process testing of all products manufactured by and within JDR in accordance with the individual manufacturing specifications, quality plans, relevant JQ procedure, or other test criteria laid down by the design of quality departments.

 

3)    Final Testing and inspection of all products manufactured by or supplied by JDR in accordance with the individual manufacturing specifications, F.A.T procedure, quality plans, relevant JQ procedure or any other test criteria laid down by the design or quality departments.

 

4)    The completion of all inspection logs, test records, F.A.T procedures and special test reports generated by any tests being carried out.

 

5)    The raising of non-conformation reports and notifying the relevant supervisor and or scheduler in the event that a part or product does not conform to its specification during testing.

 

6)    To maintain safe working practices at all times.

 

7)    Ensure that work is carried out in efficient and timely manner.

 

8)    Assist with the training of others, e.g. new staff/inductions.

 

9)    Ensure that contact with the inspection/Termination Team Leader is maintained.

 

10) Comply with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy with particular concern for personal safety and safety of others. Reporting all accident and incidents immediately.

 

11) Ensure that the machine and working environment is clean and tidy and complies to Health and Safety requirements/policy

 

12) In addition to these duties employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.
