JDR Umbilical Systems is the world's leading manufacturer of Flying Leads and jumper umbilicals used to link subsea trees to UTAs, manifolds and subsea distribution units. JDR is fully accredited to ISO9001 and has the manufacturing capabilities to build product in accordance with the latest ISO 13628-5/API 17E specs. We have an extensive track record in building Flying Lead Umbilical systems for most of the major operators in the world.

JDR provides custom engineered umbilicals, designed for the harshest offshore environments. Typical applications include hydraulic lines for control of subsea valves and chokes, chemical injection lines, gas lift lines and high collapse resistance (HCR) lines. We also have the ability to incorporate oil-filled electrical harnesses, pre-tested and terminated into our umbilicals for power and communication with subsea electronics for multiplex control of subsea completions. Umbilicals are then protected either with a braid cover or with a Kevlar reinforced polyurethane extrusion.

Our product range of subcomponent hoses has technical advantages which have been achieved through an R&D program developed to push the boundaries of what is possible in hose and HCR technology - whether the application is high temperature, high pressure or chemically aggressive.

Stab-plate terminations can be integrated to the umbilical also, either free-issued by the client or supplied by JDR. This provides a fully tested, turnkey system to our clients. JDR provides the umbilical pre-filled with control fluid and flushed to required cleanliness standard (typically Class 1638 NAS 6). Umbilicals are manufactured according to ISO 13628-5/API 17E, are supplied fully tested to clients' requirements.
