JDR has a unique philosophy in the industry, in that all products are designed and manufactured in-house from raw materials up - i.e. we rarely subcontract components. We have built a reputation for custom engineering dynamic umbilicals for the harshest environments, which gives us the experience to ensure that product is built to last for a 25-year design life.

For instance, JDR builds into all of its IWOCS umbilicals, a Kevlar reinforced strength member, which helps protect the internal components from overstressing during deployment. Where electrical and fiber optic elements are included, we also separately reinforce these too, to ensure maximum life of the product. We know from experience, that even though an IWOCS umbilical is not supposed to be subjected to tensile loading, that, in extreme conditions, this can happen - we ensure this situation is protected against.

Our product range of subcomponent hoses is technically superior to any other manufacturers' in the world. Our R&D program to develop new products is continually pushing the boundaries in hose/cable technology - whether your application is high temperature, high pressure, chemically aggressive or all of the above, JDR has a product to handle the application.

Specialized test equipment has been developed by JDR to simulate deployment stresses on the IWOC umbilical as it is deployed from the Reeler over the sheave. Reeler, sheave and umbilical designs can be quickly validated prior to manufacture. Reeler, sheave and umbilical design rules have been proven on many projects for major operators such as Chevron, BP, Exxon and others.

JDR can provide you with a fully integrated and tested turnkey system including reelers, stab-plates, hydraulic couplers and electrical connectors. We are also fully trained to install Tronic electrical connectors.
