| In exploiting oil and gas fields, it is of increasing importance to have a good understanding of the real time condition of the reservoirs. To optimize efficiency and to increase exploitation results it is crucial to monitor reservoir status. The monitoring results allow an operator to better control fluid injection and provides real time details on condition of the field. Monitoring systems consist of permanent or semi-permanent seismic cable arrays, which are installed on the sea floor. Incorporating all of the requirements of armored lead-in cables in terms of data transmission, the Ocean Bottom Cable (OBC) must be light, flexible and extremely durable. In order to withstand the rigors of deployment and recovery, JDR Cable Systems' OBC has been designed with all of the company's experience of dynamic and harsh environment cables. Thus features such as a high component lay-angle assembly, an outer jacket with encapsulated aramid fiber strength braid for extra strength and individual components optimized for the application. |
