JDR Umbilical Systems provides a complete Workover Reeler/spool solution for subsea completions. Packages include the Reeler, umbilical, deck baskets, jumpers, sheaves and umbilical terminations.

JDR Reelers use field-proven components for motors, gearboxes, tubing, terminations, gauges, etc. and are supplied from JDR manufacturing facilities in Houston, England and Thailand, providing procurement flexibility and broader project support base.
JDR allocates a project manager throughout the duration of the project.
The umbilical and Reeler are designed by the same engineering team, thereby eliminating interface issues. Reeler design is optimized to umbilical bend radius requirements to minimize footprint on Workover rig. JDR specifies and procures all key components for reelers such as motors, hydraulic rotary unions, electrical slip rings and gear boxes.
 Specialized test equipment has been developed by JDR to simulate deployment stresses on the umbilical as it is deployed from the Reeler over the sheave. Reeler, sheave and umbilical designs can be quickly validated prior to manufacture. Reeler, sheave and umbilical design rules have been proven on many projects for major operators such as Chevron, BP and Exxon. Additional in-process qualification testing such as Reeler frame load testing and DNV 2.7.1 drop testing is carried out.
Reelers are supplied with operations manuals, parts lists and maintenance schedules. A data book is supplied with all material certificates and equipment limits information.
JDR provides aftermarket support of reelers and umbilicals with dedicated service support personnel who can be mobilized to test, flush or repair Workover Reelers and umbilicals. Service is also provided at our factory locations in Houston, England and Thailand where we stock parts and equipment for Workover Reeler service. |
