Tom Nightingale to join RenewableUK’s newly-created Communication Advisory Group

: Tom Nightingale, JDR’s Strategy and Marketing Manager, has been selected to join RenewableUK’s newly-created Communication Advisory Group.

The group is being introduced by RenewableUK to act as a better link between its working groups, policy forums and Board. It will advise RenewableUK’s Board and senior management on strategic-level communication issues, messaging, communication styles and lobbying strategy for the organisation. RenewableUK will also ensure that its Policy Forums are updated of the group’s work and have an opportunity to feed in.

Tom joined JDR in early 2014 and has ten years’ marketing and communications experience in the offshore energy sector, having worked in previous marketing roles for DeepOcean and Technip Umbilicals.

Tom Nightingale said: “I am very pleased to be invited to join the Communication Advisory Group. RenewableUK plays a vital role in promoting the UK’s renewable energy industry in a variety of ways both in the UK and overseas. JDR plays an important part in the UK’s renewable energy supply chain as a UK-based manufacturer, strong exporter and a technology leader. I am looking forward to working with both RenewableUK and communications representatives from other member organisations in order to help support and develop strategic communications.”

The group expects to meet in person approximately three times per year and will be kept to a small membership of approximately ten people. Tom has also been working closely with RenewableUK recently as a member of the Offshore Wind Week steering group.
