See our new investment

We are looking for forward-thinking, open minded, dynamic graduates with electrical and mechanical engineering degrees.

From your first day in JDR you will become part of a project team, making a real contribution to the success of the business, having real responsibility. Each graduate has a tailored personal development plan, with training to develop skills required for future assignments and long-term career opportunities in offshore energy industries. We work closely with IMechE and encourage our graduates to work with them to understand their route to chartership.
Recent graduate recruits have worked in a wide range of teams from product development, design analysis to tendering and automation. There are also opportunities for overseas assignments, which for our current graduates has included work in Houston and Thailand.

What current JDR graduate trainees say

Alex

I have always had an interest in the sea and things that go into marine environments, so JDR really appealed to me in being able to design subsea products. I have really enjoyed my time here so far and have found everyone is friendly, there are great opportunities to progress in the company and I am given lots of responsibility, with help when I need it.

Siobhan

The graduate scheme is a good opportunity for learning and developing skills by completing work that contributes to active engineering projects. Trusted early with this type of work has been rewarding. Having the factory at this site is particularly good for graduates as a practical application of theory. I’ve found people within the design teams here are experienced, friendly and approachable.
