Arcadis Ost 1 Offshore Wind Farm Germany
The project is a 257 MW offshore wind farm
JDR Cables Systems had the privilege of securing a contract from Parkwind to manufacture, supply, terminate and test 33kV subsea cable systems for the Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind farm. Located in the German territorial waters of the Baltic Sea, northeast of the island of Rügen, Arcadis Ost 1 is an offshore wind farm with a capacity of 257 MW.
JDR was responsible for designing, manufacturing, supplying, terminating and testing the 33kV subsea cables and associated accessories for Arcadis Ost 1. These cable systems are crucial components that facilitate the transmission of electricity generated by the wind turbines to the offshore substation, enabling further distribution to the onshore grid.
The project commenced with detailed engineering and design work by JDR’s experienced team. The company focused on tailoring the subsea cables and accessories to meet the project’s specific requirements, including cable length, voltage rating, and environmental considerations.
JDR’s involvement in the Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind farm project marked a significant contribution to the development of renewable energy infrastructure in Germany. By successfully manufacturing supplying, terminating and testing the 33kV subsea cables, JDR played a crucial role in enabling the transmission of clean electricity from the wind turbines to the offshore substation.
The completion of this project scheduled for completion late 2023 furthered Germany’s renewable energy goals, contributing to a sustainable future and the reduction of carbon emissions.
