COOK WATER INJECTION PROJECT

Thermoplastic Production Control Umbilical

The Ithaca operated Cook field is located in the Central North Sea in a water depth of ~92m. Cook has been developed as a subsea field development tied back, approximately 11 kilometres to the Anasuria Operating Company operated floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, which also serves as a host facility for a number of nearby fields. The new Water Injection well at Cook will provide pressure support to the reservoir. This new well is located ~750 m South East of the existing Cook manifold and ~11 km from the FPSO.

The 925m umbilical system connects an existing Cook Production Manifold to the Cook Water Injection Tree through the use of two umbilical termination units (UTA).

JDR’s scope of work included the design and manufacture of 925m power and control sheathed thermoplastic umbilical. The subsea production umbilical cross section design composed 4x quad cables and 3x thermoplastic hoses (1/2” 345 bar rated, 3/8” 690 bar rated and 3/4” 345 bar rated).

JDR also supplied 2 x umbilical terminations comprising flanged armour body and bend stiffener (BSR), plus hydraulic slab plate, hydraulic monocouplers c/w LTPC, and Siemens 4-Way DigiTRON Diver Mate Connectors (plug and receptacle) with long term protection cap.

JDR manufactured and delivered the umbilical on a free issue installation reel from their manufacturing facility in Littleport, UK.

The JDR scope also included flushing and filling, project management and documentation, design engineering, analysis and 3rd Party Verification of Umbilical FAT.
