Moray East Wind Farm Scotland
The project is the first “Large Scale” Commercial 66KV windfarm that JDR will supply the array cables and complete the Test & Terminations
Moray East offshore wind farm, is being developed in the Outer Moray Firth, 22km off the coast of Scotland generating 950Mw of power. It is the first of two wind farms planned to be developed in the Moray Firth Zone.
When fully operational, the windfarm has the capacity to power approximately one million homes with renewable energy.
JDR was awarded the contract by Boskalis to supply 66kV inter-array power cables connecting 100 turbines which will carry the clean generated electricity to three offshore substations, for transmission to shore.
JDR has manufacture over 206km of 66kV aluminium core inter-array cables and a range of termination accessories at their state-of-the-art facility in Hartlepool, UK. In addition to this JDR will be conducting the termination and testing activities offshore, including the deployment of over 40 offshore technicians for the first campaign in 2020 and then over 80 offshore technicians for the second campaign happening in Qtr1-2 2021.
The project is targeted for completion in 2021.
