JDR Cable Systems has been awarded a contract by Liverpool Bay CCS Limited, part of the Eni Group, to supply subsea power cables for the Liverpool Bay CO₂ Transportation and Storage project – a key element of the HyNet North West industrial decarbonisation cluster.
The scope includes around 100 km of 33 kV subsea cables to power repurposed offshore platforms, enabling the safe and efficient injection of CO₂ into depleted reservoirs under Liverpool Bay. This milestone supports the UK’s energy transition and the development of large-scale carbon capture and storage.
The cables will be designed, manufactured, and delivered from JDR’s upgraded Hartlepool facility and its new HV facility in Blyth – reinforcing our commitment to UK supply chains and lower-carbon infrastructure.
