Aberdeen Bay – Scotland’s Largest Offshore Wind Test Facility
JDR supplied 66 kV inter-array and export cables for the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) in Aberdeen Bay. This 92.4 MW wind farm, Scotland’s largest offshore test facility, utilised JDR’s 66 kV technology for the first time, with delivery and installation completed by 2018.
JDR delivered 21 km of 66 kV inter-array cables and export cables with accessories for the project. These cables were used to transmit energy from the wind turbines to local onshore substations. Manufactured at JDR’s state-of-the-art facility in Hartlepool, UK, the cables were transported to Scotland for installation.
