12th December 2025
Our JDR team was present at the Clean Energy Job Fair on Thursday, 11th December, at the Port of Tyne — an event designed to inspire young people to explore career opportunities in the offshore and clean energy sectors.
Representing JDR yesterday were @Ryan Pattison, Resourcing Manager, along with apprentices Elli Paddon, Alfie Taggart and Joe Hutchinson, who shared their early-career experiences with attendees.
Throughout the event, our team hosted a stand where 15–18-year-olds, from GCSE level through to higher education, learnt about career pathways in the clean energy sector — particularly those available locally.
With JDR’s established world leading cable manufacturing facility in Hartlepool, our Newcastle offshore service centre, and JDR’s new high-voltage subsea cable manufacturing facility located in Blyth, we are proud to highlight opportunities that directly support the North East’s industrial revitalisation and strengthen the region’s role as a hub for offshore engineering and clean-energy manufacturing.
By engaging with students, we are actively looking to promote and build a strong local skills pipeline, raising awareness of apprenticeships, internships, and long-term career prospects within the renewable energy industry.
Our presence at the event reflects JDR’s commitment to supporting the next generation and contributing to the development of a skilled workforce for the UK’s clean energy transition.
