Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) Offshore Wind Farm
JDR designed and manufactured 105 km of 66 kV inter-array cables and 3.5 km of interconnector cable, including a range of cable accessories, which were delivered in 2021. The wind farm covered an area of approximately 105 km².
The project has the potential to generate 450 MW of renewable energy, enough to power 375,000 Scottish homes – more than the entire city of Edinburgh – and reduce over 400,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually. The inter-array cables connected 54 turbines, while the 3.5 km interconnector cable linked the two offshore substations, enabling the flow of electricity between them.
The cables and accessories were assembled and manufactured at JDR’s production facility in Hartlepool, UK.
