JDR sells marine cables division to Fugro

JDR Cable Systems has today agreed the sale of its Rotterdam based Marine Cables division to Fugro NV
The divestment of Marine Cables, which specialises in cabling for seismic and oceanographic data gathering systems, will enable JDR Cable Systems to focus on the Umbilical Systems and Subsea Power Cables business where it has developed a market-leading position. JDR intends to develop this business, which operates from sites in Littleport, Hartlepool, Houston, Norway and Thailand, to further to exploit significant growth opportunities.
JDR is a leading provider of custom-designed and manufactured subsea power cables and umbilical systems for the offshore oil and gas sector and renewables industry. JDR cables are used around the world, engineered and manufactured to exacting standards for operation in the most challenging of environments.
JDR will be exhibiting at the 2011 Offshore Technology Conference 2nd - 5th May at Reliant Park, Houston, TX, USA.
