30th April 2026

April 30, 2026, Hartlepool, UK - JDR Cable Systems (JDR Cables), the global subsea umbilical supplier and service provider, part of the TFKable Group, has been awarded a contract by Australian independent operator Amplitude Energy Ltd to supply subsea control umbilicals for its East Coast Supply Project offshore Victoria.

JDR will supply approximately 18 kilometres of hydraulic control umbilicals, with options for a further 13 kilometres, subject to drilling success. The East Coast Supply Project will deliver gas to the Athena Gas Plant, which has a processing capacity of up to 150 TJ/day, delivering gas to homes and businesses across Victoria and South Australia.

The scope of supply includes thermoplastic electro-hydraulic production control umbilicals, together with associated distribution equipment such as umbilical termination assemblies, umbilical termination heads, electrical flying leads, and hydraulic flying leads. These will be delivered on drums for transportation to Australia, in line with the offshore installation campaign scheduled for the latter part of 2027. The umbilicals are designed to integrate with existing subsea infrastructure connected to the Athena Gas Plant, further extending the value of the existing assets.
