RACEBANK

JDR has been awarded the inter-array cable contract for the Race Bank offshore wind farm by contract by DONG Energy. The Race Bank offshore wind farm is located up to 27 km off the Norfolk coast. The project will span approximately 29 square miles in waters of depth 6 to 26 meters.

JDR will manufacture over 110 km of 36 kV inter-array cables and a range of accessories, including hang-offs, electrical t-connectors and cable cleats. JDR will also provide offshore testing and termination services. The cables will be designed by JDR’s in-house design team and manufactured at JDR’s Hartlepool facility.

The Race Bank wind farm will incorporate 91 x 6MW wind turbines with an installed capacity of 580MW. When fully operational, the wind farm has the capacity to supply renewable energy to over 400,000 UK homes a year.
