Santos Fletcher & Finucane Development Project
Subsea Electro-Hydraulic Umbilicals and Subsea Power Cables
JDR has delivered thermoplastic control umbilicals, ESP (electrical submersible pump) power cables and distribution equipment to Australian oil and gas operator Santos for the Fletcher & Finucane Project. The project required JDR to design, manufacture and supply a turnkey system for delivery of power, chemical injection and hydraulic control to three production wells.
The Fletcher and Finucane developments are tie backs to existing Mutineer & Exeter infrastructure, which is located approximately 150km offshore, north of Dampier, Western Australia. Water depths range between 133 and 155 meters. Crude oil will be produced via flexible flowlines to the Mutineer manifold and Modec Venture 11 FPSO. Production will be boosted using ESPs and a multiplexed electro-hydraulic subsea control systems will be used. The control umbilical lay route represents a 21 km daisy chain tieback.
The electro-hydraulic umbilicals and electrical submersible pump cables manufactured for Santos were designed by JDR’s in-house engineering team. The team specializes in custom engineered systems for subsea installations at ever increasing water depths and tieback distances. Products are designed to meet the most complex and demanding project requirements.
The umbilical and cable package totalled over 60km of product and were manufactured and loaded out of JDR’s state-of-the art facility in Hartlepool. JDR’s Hartlepool plant features multiple manufacture routes for both products, enabling it to offer quality products with competitive delivery times. Aftermarket support will be provided by JDR’s AIM Services, which provides 24/7 aftermarket, installation and maintenance through a global network of highly experienced and fully certified technicians.
