JDR DELIVERS SUBSEA POWER CABLES FOR TOTAL’S LIBONDO FIELD

:

Littleport, United Kingdom – 9 June 2010 – JDR Cables Systems LTD.

JDR recently completed the load-out of 13 km of subsea power cables for Total E&P’s Libondo field located 75 km offshore Congo in 110 meters of water. A satellite of the Yanga field, Libondo is one of the many new developments in this region and consists of wellhead platforms tied back to production facilities. The cable links the LB1 and KOF1 wellhead platforms.

The completed package was loaded directly to an installation support vessel from JDR’s manufacturing facility in Hartlepool on the UK’s east coast. JDR’s purpose-built 100,000 sq ft facility was completed in July of 2009 and is the only site in the UK designed specifically to manufacture subsea power cables for the growing offshore renewable energy market and the increasingly complex oil and gas sector.
