JDR PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENTS: Q1 WRAP UP

: Some significant project wins were secured by JDR in the first quarter of this year. These including our first US offshore wind project and a cutting-edge hybrid steel tube umbilical project, showcasing JDR’s technical capabilities.

With that in mind we thought it would be good time to round up our big Q1 wins.

US Wind Inc.

Situated off the Eastern Seaboard, this major development will provide enough power for more than 500,000 homes in Maryland. With a goal of delivering environmental and public health benefits through wind-power generation, JDR will play a key role in its success by managing the full electrical cable supply and installation scope.

Once construction is underway up to 187 turbines will be built in water depths of between 20 and 30 metres. JDR will supply more than 120 miles of inter-array cables, and 112 of export cable.

ONGC’s Western Offshore Fields

In February, JDR secured a major umbilical contract that will connect Oil and Natural Gas Corps’ (ONGC) 11 oil and gas wells in its Western Offshore fields.

The contract win highlights JDR’s world-leading expertise in subsea umbilical and cable manufacturing. The choice of steel tube hybrid umbilicals is an optimal solution for connecting a complex installation, assisting output from these offshore fields.

The umbilicals will be made in our Hartlepool factory and are due to be shipped at the end of this year.

JDR and Proserv Alliance

Most recently JDR and Proserv announced the formation of a strategic alliance, with JDR providing services including maintenance and offshore installation on behalf of the energy services provider.

Operating out of Port Harcourt in Nigeria, JDR stands to gain valuable regional experience and strengthen its working relationship with Proserv.

JDR has a solid presence in West Africa with most projects in deepwater basins already using JDR-installed umbilicals. We have also supplied intervention, workover control systems (IWOCS) to major developments in Nigeria, Angola and Congo.

We are excited to be working on such a varied range of projects and look forward to supporting our Customers throughout 2017 and beyond.
