JDR’S LEADING TECHNOLOGIES ON DISPLAY AT THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SCOTLAND

: JDR, the leading UK based supplier of subsea umbilicals and power cables to the offshore energy industry, has been highlighted in a new gallery at the National Museum of Scotland.

The display – unveiled last night as part of the new ‘Energise’ gallery – includes samples of JDR’s cables and umbilicals. The technologies are featured within the distributing energy section of the gallery, which explains how electricity is transmitted and how cable technology enables this in remote and unpredictable locations such as the North Sea.  JDR’s Chief Technology Officer, James Young, commented: “We are delighted to be included in this innovative display. Our technologies play a vital role in delivering power and communication, to and from, offshore infrastructure in the energy industry.”

“JDR is proud to support the museum as it highlights the UK’s important role in the industry and attracts the next generation to pursue a career in engineering.”

The display was one of ten new galleries showcasing extraordinary collections of decorative art, design, fashion, science and technology. The gallery opening marked the completion of the latest phase of a masterplan to transform the museum.
