Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire to present JDR with 2014 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade

: JDR, a leading provider of technology connecting the global offshore energy industry, will receive its 2014 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade from the Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire on Thursday 18 September. The Lord Lieutenant will tour JDR’s facility in Littleport; from engineering design to the onsite factory before presenting the award and reading JDR’s Queen’s Award citation at a special employee event.

This prestigious award recognises JDR’s success in international oil, gas and renewable energy markets. The 2014 Award is JDR’s second Queen’s Award for Enterprise, having received its first International Trade award in 2010. Over the last three years JDR has delivered substantial growth through the design, manufacture and delivery of subsea products and services for many of the world’s major energy and subsea equipment suppliers. JDR now exports over 80% of its output – the company’s overseas markets extend from North Sea, Gulf of Mexico and Asia Pacific markets, to West Africa, Middle East and Germany. As a result, JDR’s overseas revenues have increased by 248% since 2010.

JDR’s export success has been achieved by growing business for existing products and services, venturing into new markets, as well as investing in next generation technology development. The company’s subsea production umbilicals, subsea power cables and inter-array cables are enabling JDR to win business with oil and gas customers and enter the emerging market for renewable energy production. Additionally JDR has evolved a full service customer offer, incorporating front-end engineering design, project execution and post-delivery offshore services.

Pat Herbert, JDR’s Executive Chairman, commented: “The JDR team is delighted to welcome the Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire to our global headquarters in Littleport. This is our second Queen’s Award, testament to the strategy we established in 2008: to grow JDR by targeting new global markets through investment in our products, technology and infrastructure.

He continued: “During the visit the Lord Lieutenant will meet JDR employees as we showcase the design, technology and manufacturing capabilities that have enabled our growth and recognition in the Queen’s Award programme. To complete the celebration of this important award a buffet lunch for all employees will follow the formal presentation”
