MARINE CABLES NOW IN CHINA

The new division comprises a complete service facility starting with engineering consultants supported by inspection, repair, upgrading and termination assembly services for cable systems. Future opportunities will be to market JDR products and services to the offshore related industries in China bringing JDR’s global expertise to those markets.
The Opening Ceremony, which was fully attended by customers and business dignitaries, took place at the new Service Center on December, 1st, 2006 using traditional Chinese and Dutch customs. Senior management of JDR Netherlands and the CEO of JDR Cable Systems (Holdings) Ltd., and all of the invited guests partook in the ceremony and day long festivities.
“Extensive growth in markets within the South- East Asia region make it imperative that we have a facility which answers the demand’s of our customers”, Han van Veen, Chairman of JDR Cable Systems (Tianjin) Ltd. & Managing Director of JDR Smart Solutions noted during his welcoming comments.
After all welcoming comments the ceremonies continued with the official ribbon cutting commemorating the debut of JDR Cable Systems Tianjin Ltd. All invited guests participated and special thanks was given to all parties who have been involved in the preparations in setting up the new facility and the commercialization and regulatory processes.
Following the ribbon cutting ceremony the Service Center was then christened in the Dutch tradition, used to launch ocean-going vessels, to signify and cement the close working relationship between China and The Netherlands.
Joost van Muijden has been designated the General Manager of JDR Cable Systems Tianjin Ltd. His vast experienced supported by local administrative staff are responsible for the day to day operations of the service center.
“A team of Field Service Engineers is on call to perform service work, repairs and integration of cable assemblies or components, onsite or at customer facilities on or offshore. If the need arises the local team of engineers can be backed up by engineers from The Netherlands enabling optimum support to our customers”, according to Joost van Muijden.
