PAT HERBERT BECOMES EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN AND APPOINTS ANDREW NORMAN AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Houston, TX, USA – 7 September 2011 – JDR Cables Systems LTD.
JDR, the leading provider of specialist high performance subsea cables and umbilical systems for the offshore oil, gas and renewables market, is delighted to announce that Andrew J. Norman will join the company as Chief Executive Officer on 19 September 2011. Andrew joins from Dresser Flow Technology Europe, where he was President. Pat Herbert, JDR’s Chief Executive Officer for the last ten years will take on the role of Executive Chairman with on-going responsibility for JDR’s strategic direction and stakeholder management.
In April 2011, JDR Cable Systems (Holdings) Ltd. sold its Rotterdam based Marine Cables division to Fugro NV enabling the company to now fully focus on its Umbilical Systems and Subsea Power Cables business with the goal to further strengthening its market-leading position.

Patrick Phelan, former Managing Director of the Umbilical Systems division has been named Managing Director-Commercial, with new additions to the team being Peter Sayles who joined JDR as Managing Director-Operations in Spring 2011 and Martin Boden newly appointed Chief Financial Officer in August 2011. Following these appointments, Bob Solberg will assume a non-executive role as a Director of the company maintaining continuity to the important contributions he has made over the last eight years in his role of Non-Executive Chairman of JDR.

Executive Management Team
Pat Herbert, Executive Chairman
Pat is a 31 year veteran in the oil & gas industry. He began his career in 1976 at Smith International Inc. where he spent 12 years in senior executive positions with global P&L responsibility becoming an Officer of the corporation in 1986. In 1988 he joined Baker Hughes Incorporated where he was a division president before moving to the corporate level as an Officer, and later Senior Officer over all Emerging Markets and corporate centres in London, Paris and The Hague. In 1998 he became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of International Energy Services Inc. a land based seismic data acquisition and processing company in the Caspian Sea region, and merged it with a regional company making it the market leader. He created a spin-out from IESI, GeoNet Energy Services, raised $20 million of private equity capital and later merged the company in Petris Technology, staying on as Chief Operating Officer of that entity prior to joining JDR.
Andrew J. Norman, Chief Executive Officer
Before joining JDR, Andrew was at Dresser Inc., one of the world’s leading providers of equipment and services in global energy infrastructure. He joined Dresser in 1995 and held a variety of posts in the Valve and Control, Flow Control and Dresser Flow Technology divisions. Andrew began his career in 1980 at Marconi Space and Defence Systems in the UK, later spending time at MARS Electronics, Philips Electronics in the Netherlands and Schindler Elevator Corp.
Patrick Phelan, Managing Director-Commercial
Patrick began his career with JDR as Managing Director of JDR Cable Systems Ltd. Umbilical Systems division, twelve years ago, and presided over a period of unprecedented growth and diversification in the oil & gas and renewable energy industries. Patrick has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA and had been a Managing Director in an oil & gas manufacturing company for eight years before joining the company.
Peter Sayles, Managing Director-Operations
Peter began his career in the Royal Navy, where he was Chief Petty Officer for eight years. On departure from the Navy, he moved into electronics, where his career developed with a number of companies from Senior Engineer, Systems Engineering Manager and then from Production Manager to Operations Director. He became Managing Director of V Band Plc in 1986 followed by Group Operations Manager in 1990 for TCC OLC and then General Manager, Director in 1992 for Signature Industries Ltd. Since 2000 Peter has been working as a consultant on Interim Management assignments for a variety of companies including Oceaneering Multiflex.
Martin Boden, Chief Financial Officer
Martin joined JDR from Betty’s & Taylors where he was Chief Financial Officer for 18 months. He previously spent two years as Group Finance Director at GENUS plc, six years as Group Financial Controller at GUS plc and nine years at WH Smith Group in a number of roles. Martin also worked at Zurich Financial Services (UKISA) as Group Accounting Director and at NatWest UK as Head of Financial Planning & Analysis.
